Plymouth is a city in Hennepin County about 15 to 20 minutes west of Downtown Minneapolis. It is a larger, growing community with a population around 71,000 residents. It is the third largest suburb of Minneapolis-St. Paul metro. Plymouth also won Best City to Live in by Money Magazine in 2008 and consistently ranks as a great place to live!


Plymouth serves five school districts, Wayzata Public Schools (ISD 284), Robbinsdale Area Schools (ISD 281), Osseo School District (ISD 279), West Metro Education Project District (ISD 6069), and Hopkins School District (ISD 270).

Plymouth is typically a well sought after place to live because of the Wayzata Public School District, which is consistently ranked as one of the top public school in the state of Minnesota. Wayzata High School is both the largest secondary school by enrollment and the largest secondary school by structural size in the state of Minnesota.

There are some great restaurants in Plymouth for families to enjoy. A couple of the community favorites are:


Sky Zone trampoline park is located in Plymouth and offers a variety of activities for the family. Sky Zone offers freestyle jumping for open park times and various specialty times such as: sky slam, ultimate dodgeball, sky hoops, sky joust, and the sky ladder. Sky Zone is also a great location for birthday parties and group events!

Plymouth is also home to several movie theaters including the recently renovated Mann Plymouth Theater 15. The theater underwent renovations in early 2015 and added reclining seats, upgraded video equipment, and a liquor license!

Parks & Recreation

Plymouth is home to 164 miles of city, state, and regional trails and 1,670 acres of park land. Plymouth has a variety of different park purposes including: three dog parks, nine community play fields, 59 city parks, a field house, and an ice center.

The Plymouth Creek Center is a great location for a variety of events including: weddings, recreational events, and senior programs.
